The first Izmir Biennial will be arranged from 4-11 May 2011 by the Seba Art Gallery. The Izmir Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education (IKSEV) is the Izmir branch of the IKSV organization based in Istanbul. The 2nd Port Izmir Contemporary art Trienale was held from 29 September-30 November 2010 with the help of the French Cultural Center, K2 Contemporary Art Center and art historian Necmi Sönmez. K2 Contemporary Art Center, which was opened 2003, is a non-profit art initiative and the first and main contemporary art place of Izmir. Some artistic exhibitions and workshops were arranged within the Izmir International Fair, which has a long history.
