PrintPrint

Colors was released at the Tolhuistuin Paradiso on the 16th of September.

Colors is Karsus second studio album. As in her previous album jazz is the main style but Colors has more color and has a more poppy sound to it. The name refers to Karsu’s multicultural background and her mixture of different musical styles.

Born in Amsterdam and introduced at a very early age to the piano, Karsu turned into a very talented pianist, an impressive vocalist, composer, lyricist and arranger. She has performed to standing ovations thrice at New York's Carnegie Hall and twice at the North Sea Jazz Festival. She combines jazz, blues, soul, funk, and Turkish music to make what she calls "Karsu Music."

Karsu performs frequently in Europe and throughout the world, as well as in Ankara, Izmir and Istanbul. She has also been featured in festivals such as the Istanbul Jazz, Alanya Jazz, Ankara Jazz, Jazz in Ramadan, and the Akbank Jazz, popularizing her name in Turkey to become one of the most sought after of performers.
